Philips CitiScape Instagram competition (#mycitymymusic)
Open to UK, residents aged 18 or over, except
employees of Philips
Electronics UK Limited and
their immediate families, their agents or anyone professionally associated with
this promotion.
To enter: Between
00.01 on 13th June 2012 and 23.59 on 27th June 2012 (“Promotion Period”), take and upload a
photograph using the Instagram application on your Smartphone. To download the
Instagram application please visit http://itunes.com/apps/instagram/ or download from
the iTunes store. To include your images in the competition, simply add the
correct hashtags to the image caption field, as outlined below. You must
have your Instagram account set to ‘public’ for your entries to be valid. If
your account is set to ‘private’, your entries will not show up in the
competition gallery. You will have to re-upload and re-tag your photos if you
make your account public after posting your entries.
Entries will be
showcased in a gallery space on Thursday 5th July for one day only
at an invite-only event in London. Those entries shortlisted must be available
to attend the Philips Citiscape event on the evening of Thursday 5th
July in London where the winner will be announced.
Promotion Periods: There is one phase
during the Promotion Period, as set out in the table below (“Phases”). The phase opens on 13th June 2012
and closes on 27th June 2012.
When you upload your photograph you must first enter the hashtag #mycitymymusic in the images caption field. The hashtag must be entered and spelled correctly or your entry will not be valid. You must then specify the city in which the photrograph was taken by entering a second hashtag in the caption space, e.g. #London, #Manchester. This second hashtag is optional.
There will be one winner who will win
an Urban Photography Experience on the Streets of London and a pair of
CitiScape headphones. The prize includes:
· 1 x pair of CitiScape headphones
· Return train travel from mainland UK stations to London
· 1 x Canon EOS DSLR Camera
· 1 x Macro Zoom Lens
· 1 x Tripod
· DSLR Camera Case
· Urban Edge Street Photography Workshop
There will be four runner up prizes. The prize for each runner up is an
iPod Touch and a pair of CitiScape headphones.
Winner Selection: Five entries will
be shortlisted and will be notified by a comment on their image within 7
days of the end of the Phase in which their entry won a prize. Entries
will be judged by a panel of judges.
Those shortlisted
will be the ones who submit the most original, creative, on-theme and
interesting photo. The overall winner will be determined by the judges.
No purchase is
necessary to enter. A valid Facebook account and internet access is required. By
entering, the winner agrees to provide Philips with information behind their
submitted photography, including where it was taken, why it was taken, what
they like about it, what sound it represents, and so forth. This information
will be created into a script for an audio recording to accompany the image at the
gallery space.
No bulk, third
party or organised group entries will be accepted. If it becomes apparent that
a participant is using a computer(s) to circumvent this condition by, for
example, the use of ‘script’, brute force’ or any other automated means, that
person’s entries will be disqualified and any prize award will be void.
No responsibility
is accepted for entries lost, damaged or delayed or as a result of any network,
computer hardware or software failure of any kind. Proof of sending will not be
accepted as proof of receipt.
Winners will be
notified by way of a comment on their image from the Philips Press Office team.
In the event of unforeseen circumstances the Promoter reserves the right to
substitute the prize for an alternative of equal or greater value. Those
shortlisted who are not contactable or who fail to return contact within 7 days
after reasonable efforts have been made to contact them will be disqualified
and a reserve entrant selected.
The prizes will be
dispatched to the winner within one week following the Citiscape event on 5th
July 2012.
All entries are
subject to moderation. The Promoter has the absolute discretion to upload or
not upload or to remove any content already uploaded without giving reasons or
recourse for its decision.
Entries will be
rejected if they:
a. contain defamatory, malicious, indecent or other
inappropriate content;
b. refer to brands other than those of the Promoter;
c. include trademarks, logos or copyrighted material
not owned by you or used without the right holder’s prior written permission
(including famous names, company names etc);
d. include images of anyone who is or appears to be
under the age of 25 (in order to comply with the Portman Group’s Code of
Practice);
e. include the names, likenesses, photographs, videos
or similar of any individual without their express permission;
f. represent a danger to health and safety; or
g. include any link to inappropriate drinking.
Entrants should
ensure that they have the permission of anyone who appears in their photograph.
If an entry has
been created by more than one person, you must pick only one person to be the
entrant. The Promoter will assume that this person is empowered to act and
respond on behalf of all those involved in the specific submission.
Entrants acknowledge
that other entrants may have submitted ideas and concepts that may be similar
to his/her entry, and that he/she will not be entitled to any compensation or
right to negotiate with the Promoter over such matters.
Entries will become
the property of the Promoter (including all intellectual property rights in the
entry) and will not be returned.
The names and
counties of winners together with their winning entries will be
available on request by writing to: Philips CitiScape Instagram Competition,

Facebook does not
sponsor, endorse or administer, and nor is it associated with, this Promotion.
Any information you disclose during this promotion is disclosed to the Promoter
and not to Facebook.
The Promoter will
only use the personal details supplied for the administration of the promotion
and for no other purpose, unless we have your consent.
Winners may be
required to participate in publicity arising from the promotion. Winning
entries may be used by the Promoter as artwork on the Philips Sound Facebook
Page.
The Promoter cannot
accept any responsibility for any damage, loss, injury suffered by any entrant
entering the promotion or as a result of accepting any prize. Nothing shall
exclude the Promoter’s liability for death or personal injury as a result of
its negligence.
If for any reason
the Promotion is not capable of running as planned for reasons (including but
not limited to tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures
or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect
the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this
promotion), the Promoter reserves the right (subject to any written directions
given under applicable law) to disqualify any individual who tampers with the
entry process and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion.
If an act,
omission, event or circumstance occurs which us beyond the reasonable control
of the Promoter and which prevents the Promoter from complying with these terms
and conditions the Promoter will not be liable for any failure to perform or
delay in performing its obligation.
Winners may be
asked for proof of identity.
This Promotion
shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and subject to the exclusive
jurisdiction of the English courts.
The Promoter’s
decision is final in all matters. No correspondence will be entered into.
By taking part in this promotion
all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by these terms and conditions.
