Full Terms and Conditions

1. This Promotion is open to residents of the United Kingdom and the United States of America between the ages of eighteen (18) and twenty four (24), excluding employees of the Promoter, its agents and anyone professionally associated with this Promotion.

2. No purchase necessary; however, internet access and a valid email address plus the ability, skill and technology to record a thirty to sixty (30-60) second video are required.

3. Entry Period: Enter between three (3)pm BST on the 11 May 2021 and one (1)pm BST on the 11 June 2021 inclusive.

4. To Enter:
a. Visit fiaformulae.com/talentcall

and

b. Upload a sixty (60) second video outlining the role that e-mobility plays in accelerating towards a cleaner future and include your vision for what that world would look like, whilst demonstrating your own unique and creative style.

and

c. Choose and answer five (5) of the thirty (30) available questions (in a minimum of fifty (50) words to a maximum of one hundred fifty (150) words per question).

and

d. Complete the entry form providing your details (name, telephone number, email address, nationality, country of residence).

All steps must be completed in full and in English in order to be entered into the Competition (“Valid Entry”).

5. Further Entry Details and Conditions:

a. Entrants can enter individually or as a pair.
b. Entrants should be fluent in English.
c. The video must be a maximum of two hundred (200)MB, and must be uploaded in MP4, AVI, FLV or MOV file format.
d. All questions must be answered in English.
e. Participants are required to own and be able to travel with filming equipment (“Filming Equipment”). Filming equipment may include mobile phones.
f. By entering the competition you accept Formula E’s code of conduct.
g. Whilst you are participating in the Competition, and for a period of one (1) month afterwards, you must not take any action that might damage the reputation or goodwill of Formula E, be derogatory towards Formula E or bring Formula E into disrepute.

i. This would include (but is not limited to) any social media posts or other electronic communications that contain content that could be considered to be:

• inappropriate or undesirable (including swearing or use of language that could offend);
• violent;
• related to potential addiction, substance abuse or the use of illicit drugs;
• sexually explicit; or
• promoting or publicising hate or discriminatory behaviour of any kind.

ii. Should Formula E consider that you have breached the above code of conduct, you will be removed from the Competition immediately at Formula E’s sole discretion.

h. Have a valid passport which is valid for at least six (6) months prior to the date of any travel. If you are one of the Further Shortlisted entrants (as per clause 8) you will be required to submit an image of your valid passport.
i. If Further Shortlisted, social media handles will be requested.
j. Be available and willing to travel. Entrants must have no restrictions to travel to/within any of the Season 8 race locations.
k. Be available and flexible for any promotional requests on any dates needed during the entirety of the Promotion.
l. Must not have been convicted of any criminal offence (other than an offence under any road traffic legislation in the United Kingdom or elsewhere for which a fine or non-custodial penalty is imposed).
m. Entrants must agree to a confidential background check or to provide suitable information to answer questions to confirm eligibility and help ensure that awarding the Prize to such person will not bring the Promoter into disrepute as determined by the Promoter at its sole discretion. This will include all relevant banning orders or related incidents regarding you at any venue as required by the government, the police or relevant law enforcement agencies or organisations. Part of this process may also include questions during the claim process and a review of personal information sourced from data available in the public domain. For the avoidance of doubt, if required by the Promoter, you shall provide identification satisfactory to the Promoter (such as driving licence or passport) and agree to be subject to a social media insight check and civil/criminal searches. If the Promoter is not satisfied (at its sole discretion) with: (i) the results of any searches, (ii) any background checks, or (iii) any of the other information provided by you, you will immediately be disqualified.
n. Entrants must agree to grant the Promoter a non-revocable, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use the copyright and other intellectual property rights vesting in your entry for all purposes connected with this Promotion, including but not limited to display on the Promoter’s website and any other website of the Promoter or its agents/contractors choosing and use of the entry, or part(s) of the entry, in marketing materials relating to this Promotion for up to one (1) year. You also agree to grant the Promoter and its agents/contractors the right to moderate, modify or remove any entry if it is deemed unsuitable, in whole or in part, for display on the Promotion website or in any materials relating to the Promotion. You hereby represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to grant the licence and rights provided for in this paragraph and that all materials forming part of their entry to this Promotion, and any use of such materials by or on behalf of the Promoter, comply with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations and do not infringe or otherwise violate the intellectual property or other rights of any third party.

6. A maximum of one (1) entry is permitted per person / pair during the Entry Period, with a maximum of one (1) Prize per person / pair.

Winner Selection

7. Initial Shortlisting: All valid entries received during the Entry Period (subject to moderation) will be independently judged by PromoVeritas within five (5) working days from the close of the Entry Period to select fifty (50) Initial Shortlisted entries (Initial Shortlisting) from each country based on the following criteria:

a. Originality – uniqueness and originality of the content and interpretation of the brief.
b. Creativity – effective use of entrants imagination.
c. Plot – taking into consideration the actions, events, conflicts and turning points that propel the story forward.
d. Pacing and structure – timing of the action and unfolding of plot elements.
e. Cinematography – quality of cinematography or videography demonstrated in the work.
f. Sound quality – Is dialog clear and not hindered by any noise or music score.
g. Music – is the music suited to the content and does it help tell the story.
h. Entertainment value – does it keep the viewers or readers attention. Is it inspiring and thought provoking?
i. Message effectiveness –Does it outline the role that e-mobility plays in accelerating towards a cleaner future and does it include their vision or that that would look like?
j. Call to action – does the applicant deliver a powerful message and create a desire in the viewer to make a change, spread the message further or taking a call to action? Does it inspire the viewer to learn more about Formula E?

 

9. Regional Finalist Selection: The Initial Shortlisted entries will be judged by a panel of judges, within five (5) working days from the close of the Promotion Period to select one (1) winner/winning pair from each country (Regional Finalist/s) based on the same criteria.

10. Finalist Selection: Regional finalists will be invited to an E-Prix event in either New York or London and will be teamed up with Formula E departments to document the twenty four (24) hour build up to race day. Finalists will be challenged to give viewers a unique peak behind the curtain documenting the triumphs, challenges and dramas which take place in the lead up to a race.

11. Regional finalists will be independently judged based on the following criteria:

a. Originality – uniqueness and originality of the content and interpretation of the brief.
b. Creativity – effective use of the applicant’s imagination in the entry.
c. Plot – taking into consideration the actions, events, conflicts, and turning points in the tenty four (24) hour build up to a race that propels the story forward.
d. Pacing and structure – the timing of the action, unfolding of plot elements. Does it create a balance between the triumphs, challenges and dramas which take place in the lead up to a race.
e. Cinematography – the quality of cinematography or videography demonstrated in the work.
f. Sound quality – is the dialogue clear and not hindered by any noise or music score?
g. Music – is the music score suited to the content and does it help tell the story?
h. Entertainment value – does the content keep the viewer’s or reader’s attention? It is entertaining, informative, inspiring and thought provoking?
i. Message effectiveness – does the film clearly communicate the intersection of racing and reason which Formula E stands for?
j. Call to action – does the applicant deliver a powerful message and create a desire in the viewer to make a change, spread the message further or taking a call to action? Does it inspire the viewer to learn more about Formula E?
k. Dialogue- voices that are natural, succinct, and unique to each character. Use of language that effectively reveals character and moves the story forward or, is the lack of dialogue used effective.

12. The Prize: One (1) winner (or winning pair) will win the chance to become an in-house preditor within Formula E’s production team for the opening race of Season 8 and create content for English language channels.

13. Further Prize Details and Conditions:

a. The Prize will be a role within Formula E’s in-house production team at the opening race of Season 8, however the prize has the potential to extend for the duration of the entire Season.
b. The winner (or winning pair) will be commissioned to produce an original piece of content according to Formula E’s brief. The content will be created with the winner’s style in mind; however, the Promoter reserves the right to all creative control and production.
c. As part of the prize, the winner (or winning pair) will be required to travel abroad, and the winner (or winning pair) shall be responsible for any necessary inoculations, insurances and immigration requirements.
d. All travel and hotel costs shall be booked and paid for in full by Formula E. Formula E requires a same day response once travel options are sent to the winner (or winning pair). All flights are in economy and flight options can only be selected by Formula E. Flights provided by Formula E will only cover a return flight to your home address. The hotel shall be selected by Formula E and will be four (4) star, provided that option is available to Formula E at the time of booking.
e. Once flights and hotels are booked and confirmed by Formula E any decision made by the winner (or winning pair) to extend their stay which occurs additional expense, shall be covered by the winner (or winning pair) and will be at no cost to Formula E.
f. Any necessary visas or travel insurance are the responsibility of the winner (or winning pair). In the event the winner (or winning pair) is unable to travel due to visa or other personal circumstances, no alternative will be issued, and no compensation or other prize will be provided.
g. For the avoidance of doubt, the Prize does not include travel/transportation, accommodation, food, beverages, souvenirs, gratuities, car parking charges, excess baggage, additional excursions and attractions or any other costs of a personal nature (including spending money) that are not explicitly set out in these Terms and Conditions and neither the Promoter nor any provider of any part of the Prize will be responsible for any such costs.
h. It is the responsibility of the winner (or winning pair) to check any travel advisories issued by the relevant Government in each jurisdiction within which a race is held during Season 8, to determine whether they wish to accept the risk of travelling to the destination. The Promoter will not be responsible for any loss or damage suffered by any winner (or winning pair) arising out of their failure to follow any travel advisories issued by a Government. The winner (or winning pair) must comply with and is responsible for obtaining all information regarding any recommended inoculation(s) and obtaining the inoculation(s) and health regulations required by any Prize destination country.
i. A valid credit or debit card will be required to check in to the winner’s (or winning pair’s) room and will be used to guarantee any incidentals such as in- room calls, services or mini-bar charges.
j. The winner (or winning pair) must inform the Promoter of any wheelchair or any similar access needs.
k. If, for reasons beyond the Promoters control, the trip to the semi-final location as detailed in Clause 10 is unable to go ahead, Semi-Finalists will be required to complete further video entries simulating those described in Clause 10.
l. Finalists will each receive five hundred pounds (£500) per day compensation for their time in the E-Prix race as detailed in clause 10. At the Promoters sole discretion, Finalists will also receive a maximum of one hundred pounds (£100) per day to cover reasonable additional expenses if required during their time at the semi-final location. Reasonable expenses will be determined at the sole discretion of the Promoter.
m. The winner/s is/are responsible for their behaviour whilst taking the Prize. The Promoter reserves the right in its absolute discretion to exclude the winner/s from participation in any aspect of the Prize if they to comply with the directions of the Promoter or any companies associated with the Prize or if the winner/s act in a manner that is dangerous to themselves or to the public or is, in the opinion of the Promoter, anti-social in any manner or which causes a disturbance or nuisance to others. Failure to comply with these Terms and Conditions may result in refused entry, or being required to leave the event/venue.
n. Upon the request of Promotor, the regional finalists and winner (or winning pair) will be required to complete and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Waiver of Liability and, except where prohibited by applicable law, Publicity Release Forms (collectively, the “Release Forms”) within five (5) working days after the date such Release Forms are sent to potential winner, in accordance with Promotor’s instructions.

14. Regional Finalist Notification: The two (2) Regional Finalists will be contacted via the email address provided on entry within three (3) working days of Regional Finalist Selection and will be required to respond to confirm eligibility and acceptance of their Regional Finalist Status, within seven (7) days of initial contact. In the event that a Regional Finalist does not respond to the initial contact within seven (7) days, the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify that Regional Finalist. If a Regional Finalist is disqualified, the Promoter reserves the right to award the Regional Finalist status to a reserve selected in the same manner. Reserve finalists may have less time to respond.

15. Winner Notification: The winner (or winning pair) will be contacted via the email address provided on entry within three (3) working days of Winner selection and will be required to confirm acceptance of the Prize within seven (7) days of initial contact. In the event that the winner (or winning pair) does not respond to the initial contact within seven (7) days, the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify that winner (or winning pair). If the winner (or winning pair) is disqualified, the Promoter reserves the right to award the Prize to a reserve selected in the same manner. Reserve winners may have less time to respond.

16. Prize Acceptance: The winner (or winning pairs) will be notified within twenty eight (28) days of acceptance of the Prize to arrange their Prize acceptance. In the unlikely event that the winner (or winning pair) doesn’t receive notification within twenty-eight (28) days of Prize Acceptance, the winner (or winning pair) will have a further twenty-eight (28) days to inform the Promoter by emailing communications@fiaformulae.com. In the event that the winner (or winning pair) does not inform the Promoter within this time frame, the Promoter will reserve the right to not reissue the prize or limit its value at their sole discretion.

17. Moderation: The Promoter reserves the right to reject entries which, in the reasonable opinion of the Promoter:
a. are in breach of the Terms and Conditions;
b. contain any content that is offensive, obscene, sexual, derogatory, defamatory, violent, abusive, harassing, threatening, objectionable with respect to race, religion, origin or gender, which could reflect negatively upon the name, reputation or goodwill of the Promoter or any brand partner, or which is otherwise unsuitable for publication;
c. contains or refers to any third-party brand or reference any third-party names, logos and/or trademarks; and / or
d. promotes any political agenda.

18. Provided no objection is received, if you are the winner (or winning pair), your surname and county of residence will be made available by emailing communications@fiaformulae.comone (1) month after the close of the Promotion, for a period of eight (8) weeks. You can object to your surname or county of residence being published or request for the amount of information being published to be reduced by emailing the Promotor at communications@fiaformulae.com . Without prejudice, the Promoter will provide this information to the Advertising Standards Authority on reasonable request.

19. The Prize is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for monetary value or for any other form of compensation. If for any reason any element of the Prize is not available, the Promoter reserves the right, at its sole discretion to substitute another prize for it, of equal or greater value.

20. In the event that the Promotion is not capable of running as planned for reasons including but not limited to tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, dishonesty, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Promotion, the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process or does not comply with these Terms & Conditions and to cancel, modify or suspend the Promotion or invalidate any affected entries.

21. No responsibility can be taken for entries which are lost, delayed, corrupted, damaged, misdirected or incomplete or which cannot be delivered for any technical, delivery or other reason. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of receipt. The Promoter does not guarantee continuous or secure access to the website.

22. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the eligibility of entrants. The Promoter may require such information as it considers reasonably necessary for this purpose and a prize may be withheld unless and until the Promoter is satisfied with the verification.

23. The Promoter together with any associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with this Promotion or accepting or using the Prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. Nothing will exclude the Promotor’s liability for death or personal injury as a result of its negligence.

24. An entry must be made directly by the individual entering the Promotion. Bulk entries from trade, consumer groups or third parties will not be accepted. Incomplete or illegible entries and entries submitted by macros or other automated means together with entries which do not satisfy the requirements of these Terms & Conditions in full will be disqualified and will be not be counted. If it becomes apparent that an entrant is using a computer(s) to circumvent this condition by, for example, the use of ‘script’, ‘brute force’, masking their identity by manipulating IP addresses, using identities other than their own or any other automated means in order to increase that entrant’s entries into the Promotion in a way that is not consistent with the rules of the Promotion, that entrant’s entries will be disqualified and any prize awarded will be void. Entrants are not permitted to enter using anonymous email services such as, but not limited to, GuerillaMail, Dispostable or Mailinator.

25. Should an act, omission, event or circumstance occur which is beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter and which prevents the Promoter from complying with these Terms & Conditions the Promoter will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligations.

26. The Promoter may refuse to award a Prize in the event of any entrant’s fraud, dishonesty, breach or non-entitlement under these Terms & Conditions or seek recovery of its value if the Prize has been awarded.

27. Any and all personal data supplied for the running of this Promotion will be used solely for the purpose of this Promotion by the Promoter and/or by any agent appointed by it to assist with running the Promotion on behalf of the Promoter and will not be disclosed to a third party for any other purpose unless your positive consent has been obtained. Your personal data will be handled in accordance with the Promoter’s privacy policy, available at: www.fiaformulae.com/en/terms-and-conditions

28. If any provisions of these Terms & Conditions are judged to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, this will not affect or impact the continuation in full force and effect the remainder of the provisions.

29. By entering this Promotion, you will be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

30. In the event of a discrepancy between these Terms & Conditions and the details in any promotional material, the details in the Terms & Conditions will prevail.

31. These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales and their interpretation and application will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
